Here are the top ten learnings from our recent webinar on the RockSTAR handheld tracking device - what you need to know.

In August we ran an online webinar presenting essential training and knowledge for the RockSTAR tracking device.

You can view the webinar recording here.

Here are the top ten learnings from the RockSTAR webinar:

  1. The RockSTAR is a truly global communication and tracking device. It is a handheld two-way messenger unit with a ruggedised build, high quality antennas, long battery life, and is compatible with variety of mounting options to suit your needs.

  2. The RockSTAR tracker is waterproof – to a rating of IP-67, which covers submersion of up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, and is built to withstand some of the most challenging environments and conditions.

  3. It’s rated operating temperature is between negative -30 to positive 60+ degrees centigrade, and it can handle high humidity.

  4. It is an ideal safety device for lone workers, researchers in the field, gas and electric and other utility organisations - essentially anyone travelling outside cell phone range frequently or for an extended period of time.

  5. The RockSTAR tracker boasts exceptional battery life with up to 2500 Iridium transmissions on a single charge. This equates to:
    - Up to three weeks transmitting every 15 mins
    - Up to three months transmitting once per hour
    - Or up to 12 months transmitting once per day.

  6. The RockSTAR tracker integrates seamlessly with our cloud-based application TracPlus Cloud, where you can track all your personnel and assets from a single screen. TracPlus Cloud is device agnostic, so you can easily mix your RockSTAR devices with a wide variety of other trackers for full situational awareness of your operations.

  7. TracPlus Cloud also lets your Ops Center easily monitor alerts and messages from your devices, as well as quickly send messages out to specific devices in the field.

  8. The RockSTAR can be charged from any USB compatible charging device, for example a laptop or cigarette adaptor in a vehicle, although we recommend using the provided wall charger for the most reliable and rapid charging

  9. The RockSTAR tracker can be set to automatically report your position at a time interval anywhere from 5 seconds to 12 hours.

  10. The RockSTAR supports our iOS app 'TP Connect'. This app is available for free from the AppStore and allows you to configure the device, change advanced features, as well as send and receive more complicated text messages.
