The Card Security Code, also called the Bank code, Creditcard Validation Value (CVV) or Card Identification Number (CIN), is a special security code feature. This new code is a three or four-digit number which provides a cryptographic check of the information embossed on the card.
This is an extra security measure to ensure that you have access or physical possession of the credit card itself in order to use the Card Security Code.
Flip your card over and look at the signature box. You should see a 16-digit credit card number followed by a special 3-digit code. This 3-digit code is the Card Security Code.
