Testimonials
BC Hydro
BC Hydro and TracPlus combined to resolve the key issue facing
all large enterprise businesses and even emergency services, that
of operational control and safety management across all the owned
and contracted air assets, regardless of tracking device on board
and who turned up on the day.
"With so many disparate systems out there and number of
contractors required to fulfill our day-to-day operations, the
ability to monitor them effectively from a safety and operational
control viewpoint was completely compromised using traditional
tracking companies and methods."

NSW Rural Fire Service
The NSW Rural Fire Service has been utilizing TracPlus for the
last four years to maintain our overwatch (flight following, SAR,
situational awareness, etc) of all aviation assets at our
incidents, and we have been very impressed with the capabilities of
TracPlus.
In 2009/2010 the TracPlus system was selected, through a
competitive tender selection process, as the sole provider for
Automated Flight Following services to the National Aerial
Firefighting Centre (NAFC). Currently, all NSW contracted aviation
assets are required to utilize the TracPlus system. Within the next
three years, all our Call When Needed aviation assets will have to
utilize a tracking system that can communicate through TracPlus to
the RFS.
In our years of utilization of this system, we have never
experienced any interruption in tracking services. In addition,
given that the service has a large but varied skill base from its
volunteer fire fighter ranks, all our aviation specialists have
found the user interface software to be intuitive and easily
accessible, especially with its capacity to be viewed in
GoogleEarth and the addition of the TracPlus iPhone
application.
TracPlus has certainly been of great benefit in increasing the
service's air space management situational awareness
capabilities.

United Aero Helicopters
"Our crews work in some of the most extreme and remote areas in
Australia and South East Asia. TracPlus gives our management and
aircrew the peace of mind that comes from knowing where our people
are at any given time, even if direct communication cannot be
established, as is often the case. The ease with which we can
incorporate third party trackers into the one account has been a
real bonus, especially when utilising third party and overseas
based assets. Its simplicity of use and ability to be viewed via
computer or smart phone is a real plus, especially for our busy and
highly mobile workforce."

Northland Emergency Services Trust
(NEST)
"NEST committed to Tracplus initially for the safety benefits
offered. This aspect was easily met and additional benefits became
apparent as we became familiar with the system; fleet efficiency,
customer peace of mind, and a valuable client demonstration tool.
TracPlus operational and product support has been superb."

Taranaki Community Rescue Helicopter
"Tracplus is one of our most valuable tools in the search and
rescue environment. It enables us and other agencies to track our
helicopter whilst on the job and provide flight following. Tracplus
also gives us the option to look back at previous flight paths and
gives us accurate lat long locations and times of aircraft
position. What makes it great is that Tracplus is accessible from
work and home enabling us to track the helicopter 24/7. It also has
great mapping which is easy to work with."

Crewman, Taranaki Community Rescue Helicopter
Heliworks Queenstown
"Heliworks Queenstown operate a fleet of Squirrel Helicopters in
the greater South Island of New Zealand. As an established operator
with overseas operations we provide an array of services from
tourism through to filming, exploration, fire fighting and search
and rescue, including NVG ability.
"As an original TracPlus customer from their beta testing stage
before commercial release, some five years later we continue to
enjoy the operational advantage and peace of mind provided by this
world class system. Some of our operations are in very remote and
sometimes challenging terrain, and with TracPlus, management and
staff can monitor what is happening out in the field in near real
time.

Wanaka Helicopters
"Wanaka Helicopters operates out of Wanaka Airport in Central
Otago and operates a fleet of Robinson R22 helicopters on flight
training, and a Robinson R44 and a Eurocopter EC130B4 on scenic and
commercial operations.
"Most of our operations take place in the mountains of Otago and
the Mount Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks where normal
communications are at best, spasmodic. Monitoring our helicopters
movements was almost non existent until TracPlus came along. We
have a combination of hard wired and portable units and TracPlus is
now an essential part of our operation. The portable unit has been
incredibly useful because our operation involves flying in many
different helicopters and we can swap it from helicopter to
helicopter as the need arises.
"If nothing else, the 'peace of mind' in being able to watch the
progress of a flight from the office, or even at home is worth more
than all the other advantages combined. It has greatly increased
the level of safety to our operation, not only for the machinery
and crews, but also for the customers.
We would not operate now
without TracPlus."

One old-time pilot's personal tale
Old Cap'n Biff Windsock, Bill Charney, is well known around the
backblocks of Australia. He wanted us to share this story:
"I was in Victoria, having extensive maintenance work carried
out on my radial engine aircraft, a Beechcraft Staggerwing, named
the Red Rockette. The engineer who carried out the work is
also a farmer. When I needed to take a test flight I took him
along and while airborne he pointed out his farm. Several days
later I was again test flying the aircraft and since my
engineer-farmer had done such good work I thought I would fly by
and see if he was home.
"Indeed he was, working on his computer. But he was bored and
suddenly remembered I had a website. He tuned in to take a look,
clicking the "Where is Capt Biff today?" link. He saw the aircraft
icon showing a location only 10 miles away.
"He thought the program must have locked on the previous flight
over his property. However, just then he heard the rumble of
the radial engine and knew it must be Old Cap'n Biff. He raced
outside just as I was coming over the treetops by his home.
He was stunned by the real-time updating of the website. And,
so was I when he told me.
"Many friends back in the US and other parts of the world often
watch me live. So thank you TracPlus for getting your
equipment to talk to my website so well."
