The AMS AFIRS "Blue Box" terminals incorporate a flight data recorder, GPS receiver and an Iridium satellite modem for data communications. Processing aircraft performance data in real time on the aircraft, it can transmit selected data to TracPlus at regular intervals and transmit unscheduled events including exceedence of engineering limits. AMS Canada has Federal Aviation Authority and Transport Canada STCs issued and pending for a variety of airliners. |
